    Description: For all singers aged 9 to 15 interested in joining Belfast Philharmonic Youth Choir and Pre-Youth Choir! Join in on one of our Youth Choir rehearsals led by Artistic Director Dr Lynsey Callaghan, find out more about the kind of music we perform and ask any questions you have about the choirs.

    Our Youth Choir programme provides young singers with musicianship classes alongside their choir rehearsals every week. We work on reading and interpreting classical and contemporary choral music, vocal technique and understanding, and building confidence as performers and as individuals. We start introducing those techniques and singing ideas to our Phil Kids (Minis P2/P3 and Phil Kids/Pre Youth P4-P7), and build and develop them all the way up to our Youth Chamber Choir (ages 15-22). All our choirs perform in at least two concerts each season, as well as getting opportunities to work with other music organisations - last year our Phil Kids and Youth Choir sang in the Ulster Orchestra Halloween Howler concerts and this season some of our Youth Choir joined NI Opera on the Grand Opera House stage for Tosca!

    Phil Kids/Pre-Youth meet every Tuesday afternoon during term-time in our rehearsal rooms in St Brides Hall. 
    Youth Choir (ages 11-15) meets every Wednesday from 5.15-6.45pm during term-time, also in St Bride's Hall
