 Join members of Belfast Philharmonic Choir\, conductor Dr Lynsey Callagha
 n\, and accompanist Gail Evans\, to learn Jenkins’ beautiful contempora
 ry mass\, The Armed Man.\n\nThe Armed Man has been a popular request for 
 the Philharmonic’s annual Come and Sing\, and we are delighted to be abl
 e to bring singers together to learn it as our first in-person Come and Si
 ng since February 2020.\n\nIn the warm acoustic of Fisherwick Church\, you
  will be led through the piece\, which combines the Ordinary of the Mass w
 ith extracts from sacred and secular works including Tennyson’s Ring ou
 t\, Wild Bells and the Mahabharata. The mass ties together texts showing
  the peril of war and calling for peace\, in a moving epic which has becom
 e a favourite of both professional and amateur singers. The day is open to
  singers of all ages and experience who would like to learn choral music i
 n a fun and welcoming atmosphere\, with the professional instruction of Dr
  Lynsey Callaghan. Lynsey is the Artistic Director of Belfast Philharmonic
  Youth Choirs\, Music Director of Tallaght Choral Society\, and founder an
 d Artistic Director of Dublin Youth Choir.\n\nAt the end of the day\, the 
 whole group will join together to perform a short concert\, with soloists 
 drawn from Belfast Philharmonic Choir. Singers are always surprised how mu
 ch they can learn in just one day\, and the event is a highlight of the Ph
 ilharmonic season. We are especially glad to be learning music together wi
 th new singers after such a long break – make sure to book your tickets 
 as soon as possible!\n\n\nPlaces are open to singers of all levels – ple
 ase book early to guarantee your ticket!\nPlease indicate during booking 
 which voice part you sing as well as whether you are bringing your own s
